About Rotaract

Rotaract is an international program for adults ages 18 to 30 who want to make a difference. Founded in 1968 by Rotary International, there are more than 7,300 Rotaract clubs today with some 170,000 members in over 150 countries. Clubs enable members to grow personally and professionally, address community needs, and promote international understanding through friendship and service. Rotaract builds leaders, and leaders build strong clubs with effective programs.

District 7040 spans Eastern Ontario, Western Quebec, Northern New York State and Nunavut. Currently there are 9 chartered Rotaract Clubs in our district.

The clubs within our district are very active and focused on many goals for international and community projects. This can sometimes make it challenging to maintain communication interchangeably with other clubs. Many of us have experienced that contagious fellowship while attending district retreats, conferences or club functions. It is our hope that during our term, we will help create avenues for relations through social media and heighten connectivity with other clubs. We plan on doing this through social media platforms, such as frequent use of our Facebook page (Rotaract District 7040) and our new Twitter account @Rotaract7040 (follow us)!

We are also working on establishing a system to record, share and acknowledge the efforts of individuals and Rotaract clubs as a whole. It is a work in progress but it will look something like a District 7040 Passport. In addition to recognizing your contributions, the Passport will serve as a way to help you remember all of your remarkable contributions through the Rotaract and Rotary community. Your Rotaract pride is contagious and will continue to attract new members and encourage engagement from others!

Collectively as your representatives we welcome any questions, concerns or suggestions to ensure we are meeting you and your club’s needs. As teacher Jackie Mutcheson so eloquently said, “it takes each one of us to make a difference for all of us”. Stay engaged and we hope to hear from you!

Yours in Rotaract,
Natasha and Kaitlynn
